Fuxi Inn: A Modern Renovation of TraditionRevitalizing an Inn in the Heart of Xitang Scenic Spot

Fuxi Inn, located in the center of the Xitang Scenic spot, has undergone a remarkable transformation. Designed by the renowned YuCheng Decoration, this renovation project embraces simplicity, modernity, and the essence of the Jiangnan region. By abandoning complicated decorations and patterns, the designer has created a unique and fashionable space that combines tradition with contemporary elements.
The interior space of Fuxi Inn is diverse and enriched, offering a range of room options including standard rooms, deluxe big bed rooms, and double entry structure rooms with windows on the roof. The addition of these modern elements adds diversity and a youthful vibe to the inn.
The renovation process involved repairing the wooden beams, rebuilding the roof, reinforcing the walls with steel bars, and remaking the waterproof layer. These technical specifications ensure the durability and safety of the inn, providing a comfortable and secure environment for guests.
One of the standout features of Fuxi Inn is the unique interaction between the space and its surroundings. The roof tiles create a separation that allows the flow of air while providing a glimpse of the fine rain characteristic of the south of the Yangtze River. This design element adds a touch of poetic beauty to the inn's atmosphere.
The project, which started in April 2017 and finished in November 2017, was located in Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province. The designer drew inspiration from the Xitang Scenic spot, a picturesque location at the junction of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai. By incorporating the local culture and natural landscape, Fuxi Inn truly captures the essence of its surroundings.
Fuxi Inn's renovation presented numerous challenges. The original building was dilapidated, with a dirty and messy washing environment, and was at risk of collapsing. However, through creative problem-solving and technical expertise, YuCheng Decoration successfully transformed the inn into a modern and inviting space.
The exceptional design of Fuxi Inn has been recognized with the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in 2019. This award celebrates the innovative and resourceful nature of the design, which incorporates best practices in art, science, design, and technology. Fuxi Inn contributes to the improvement of quality of life, making it a truly remarkable destination.
